Key information for users and decision makers regarding
Xerox DocuShare and ABBYY recognition products.
DocuPage Pro v4.0
We've updated our flagship image tagging and upload tool for DocuShare users
with new capabilities to make it more versatile than before. String
manipulations let you use a substring of characters in titles or metadata
and in collection names. Now you can file documents by range (e.g. 1200 -
1299) based on data you enter about the document, such as a medical record
number. You can save documents or create collections using date and/or time
formatted the way you please (e.g. file by yyyyMM as in "2013-12").
DocuPage Pro works directly with DocuShare's content intake mode as well as in remote entry situations where you can upload and file documents using DocuShare scripts or via FTP in combination with content intake. DocuPage Pro is an important component in an overall data capture and document management environment. While tagging is performed manually, it's a good low cost solution for small batches. For somewhat larger batches of semi-structured documents we recommend you consider Recognition Server and use the included Indexing station which allows you to select text and numbers from the page which fills in the fields for you. For larger batches or forms with data located in the same place we recommend ABBYY FlexiCapture which captures the data, fills in the fields, and prompts you to check on values that it suspect may be wrong. That's the fastest way to gather data and upload it using our DAVupDoc tool.
We've created a unique category for
network scanners on our site so you don't have to browse and search much
to find them.
Paper sizes explained
This is mostly about European paper sizes like A4 and A3, but touches
upon U.S. Letter and other sizes, too. Deriving "A" sizes is actually pretty
interesting. This is a nearly ten minute video, so unwrap that sandwich and
put your feet up. Brought to you by

Looking at clouds lately?
Reading and hearing about the NSA hacking into everything from phone calls, internet traffic, email, and even phone synchronizations including your contacts gives pause to moving any services to Internet service providers. Keeping all your traffic in-house and behind your firewall is obviously more secure. Using security certificates or VPN for public and private clouds address this by encrypting all transfers over the Internet between users and systems. Public clouds share server resources among multiple accounts and private clouds use one or more dedicate servers per account. Obviously, the latter choice would cost more but probably not secure your data from prying eyes any more than a public cloud offering would.
