FlexiCapture 10 Release 7 is now available

Is Internet Explorer 11 Supported for DocuShare?

The DocuShare Knowledgebase at has a new article that flatly states Internet Explorer 11 is not yet supported.

Internet Explorer 11 has not yet been tested and therefore, is not currently, officially supported.  Please refer to for the latest system requirements.

We've found that IE11 no longer supports VBscripts, so many of your integration scripts for DocuShare and other products and services may not work as before. Chrome and FireFox still support VBscripts, so shift to them. The eForms Process Studio module for DocuShare requires a test for whether Java is installed and uses a VBscript to issue that test, so it fails. This failure is limited to using the toolbar icons in the eForms Web Desktop for accessing the Process Studio, so you'll need to bypass that to get to this resource. Create a shortcut along the lines of: and put that on your desktop or tool-tray or whereever. This bypasses the normal VBscript test and goes straight to Java.

LG LSM-100 1200dpi Laser 5 Button Smart Mouse Scanner

We don't sell this, but we think it's pretty cool. I wonder if this would work with a QRcode reader.

  • Auto-stitches your image together as you swipe, much like washing a window
  • OCRs scanned text to copy into documents and spreadsheets
  • included editor allows you to crop and rotate the image
  • comes with a mousepad

This would be great for articles in magazines that otherwise require a flatbed scanner. Scan checks and receipts without letting go of the mouse. It's a high-resolution, five button, laser mouse with USB cable that otherwise looks like a good mouse.

DocuShare - to index or not to index

Customer Question:
We normally index our DocuShare twice a year. Since we upgraded our software, do we still need to index it? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Support Answer:
If you're not experiencing a problem, don't index. There are a couple new commands you can run to see if anything's not indexed.

Commands to compare indexed to nonindexed files

  • getIndexReport - quick, just counts database entries against index entries
  • verifyindex - takes much longer as it lists objects not currently indexed properly
  • recoverIndex - includes autorecover option to reindex missing handles

You can run this last command with /? to see your options. Check the thoroughness of your indexing this way and don't assume it might not be complete. You may also want to look into backing up your indexes. Here's an article on the DocuShare Knowledgebase called "How To Back Up and Restore The IDOL Content Index".
