DocuShare 6.5.3 and 6.6.1 hotfix to protect against SQL injections

You should apply this immediately if your DocuShare server is exposed to the Internet. The only other realistic risk is that a SQL injection attack could be run once a hacker's pierced your firewall in some other way. Then they probably wouldn't care to run it, but install this hotfix just to be on the safe side. This should have already come to you from Xerox as email.

If you haven't seen this alert from Xerox, please click on DocuShare HotFix for a copy of the email message sent to us. Hotfixes are easy to install and you should do this soon if your DocuShare server is exposed to the Internet.

How to Integrate ECM with ERP

There's a great article in the April 2014 edition of KMWorld called "How to Integrate ECM with ERP".  I’d read this three weeks ago when out for breakfast on a Saturday morning and it came out online a couple of weeks later. I think this is a good article in that doesn’t endorse any particular vendor and helps people understand how this data capture contributes to accounting practices. Be sure to click on the two charts linked within the article.

Xerox DocuShare and Heartbleed

Advisory to Xerox DocuShare Customers and Partners - Heartbleed Issue
If you haven't received email from Xerox about DocuShare as it relates to the Heartbleed vulnerability, refer to their communication in the linked article.

Wikipedia has a summary of the issue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heartbleed

Access Formatta e-Forms and Heartbleed

You may have read recently about the "heartbleed" issue found in OpenSSL. News stories like AFP's article about a Canadian tax breach [1] have reported that the flaw "allows hackers to eavesdrop on online communications, steal data, impersonate websites and unlock encrypted data."
Access Support wants to assure you that we do not use OpenSSL in any of our products -- so none of your Access solutions are vulnerable to this bug. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
